I am proud to announce that I (Cheshire Saddler) am a Regional Finalist for the Countryside Alliance Awards (#ruraloscars). Being a regional finalist means I have been selected out of thousands of nominations from the North West area and chosen to be a finalist. The section I am in is Rural Enterprise. To see other company’s that have been selected for finalists in my section and others please follow this link.
I would like to thank everyone who nominated me in the first stage and given me the chance to become a finalist. The Countryside Alliance received over 17,000 nominations. So to be chosen to be a finalist from all the nominations is amazing. The next stage of the competition is for me to answer a questionnaire about my business and the judges will come and look at my workshop and ask any other questions and find out any other information they may need.
After the judges have visited they will then choose a finalist and a runner up each section and each region. Once the regional finalists and runner ups have been chosen, the judges will then choose a complete finalist of the section for example my section is rural enterprise out of all the finalists. Once they have chosen a finalist, all the finalists are invited to the House of Lords for a presentation. You can see the award process and also the exact dates by following this link.
All together there are 7 judges. The judges are all different for example on 1 judge is from The Daily Telegraph, another from The Farmer Gardian, another judge is a waitrose food editor, masterchef critic and an award winning author. You can see who the judges are and find out more information bout them here.
So for now its just a waiting game of when the judges come to visit my lovely little business. I will keep you all updated via my blog and also facebook page. I would also like to just say again a massive thank you to everyone who nominated me as this has meant a lot to me being only 20 and only have been running my business for about 2 years.
